Matcha Latte

Matcha latte – possibly my top 5 drinks of all time. It’s my go-to order in any cafe because it’s always comforting and you know it won’t disappoint. The only caveat is using the right matcha powder. If you want to save money and make the best quality matcha latte, its safer to make it at home as you can tailor to exactly what you want. Always use good quality matcha for drinks! I would recommend ceremonial grade.

Matcha Latte

This matcha latte is a perfect balance of nutty, lightly sweet flavors with a vibrant green hue. It’s rich and foamy on top, creating a silky-smooth texture with every sip. Refreshing yet comforting, it’s the perfect way to enjoy matcha at its best!

Prep time: 5 minutes

Yield: 1 cup

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp matcha
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1 tsp honey

Directions:

  1. Heat milk in a small pot with lid on under medium-high heat. When it starts steaming and just before it boils, turn off heat.
  2. Add honey in hot milk and let it dissolve. Mix well.
  3. Meanwhile, add matcha into cup and pour 4 tbsp of the hot milk into the cup.
  4. Using a spoon or a hand-chasen, mix the matcha and milk well until a smooth thin paste forms.
  5. Pour the remaining hot milk in a medium-sized French press and pump vigorously until 1/3 of dense foam appears.
  6. Pour hot milk into cup and make fun patterns!
  7. Serve and enjoy!
